Right now, Out All Day is pretty much a one-person show. I’m trying to raise $5,000 to grow and pay writers for the next 12 months to cover more of the city that you love. The first step is a silent auction of very generously-donated items. Bids start at just $20 for some sweet art prints, so please take a look and grab yourself some unbelievably cheap but wonderful stuff. There are things for Mothers’/Fathers’ Days, history buffs, Saints fans, musicians, artists, cocktail lovers, Thank you so much. I sincerely appreciate the consideration. PO

Jazz Fest arrives in town this weekend, but given the wall-to-wall coverage in just about every other local media outlet, we’re keeping our musical coverage a bit more intimate.
“The electronic pulses, ethereal chimes and thudding drumbeats fade, the tens of instruments played by the crowds of adults and children suddenly silent. We all face a metal telephone box. The eight or so women crammed inside it sing a Balkan folk song, their hands and feet beating a rhythm on the box’s frame…”
“The plot is really a series of increasingly surreal, horrific tableaux, each with their own stakes. What if swallowing pills without water killed you? What if you left your apartment door open and unattended in a feral neighborhood? What if every single feeling of safety that you ever felt was an illusion?”
Again, thanks for taking a look at our auction - more next time and as always, much love to you.
