We like to mix things up, and this week is no exception. On the one hand, we’re profiling a handful of local visual artists (click here to discover eight people we think you’ll like), and on the other, we’re previewing the vampire movies and gore at The Overlook Film Festival (Nicolas Cage will be in town to promote Renfield - find out more here).

We also have an event tomorrow night (Friday 31st). International House of Puncakes is the city’s only live pun contest. Join us and eight puntestants trying their luck to be the champun! New Orleans’ best comics will perform sets between rounds. It’s at HiHo Lounge at 8pm tomorrow (Friday) night. You can buy advance tickets here, and there should be a few on the door.
