Filé and Film Festivals
One week, dozens of events
Greetings from Sydney, Australia, where I’ve traveled for three days to get to a family wedding. It’s already the future (by 17 hours) here, and let me tell you…it’s not much different. Anyway, a slightly abridged newsletter of sorts this time, thanks to chronic jet lag.
I’m sad to be away for such a great week in New Orleans, with so many great festivals happening, including the Black Film Festival, the French Film Festival (pictured) and the Birdfoot Festival all kicking off. Check out these great events and a full menu of cultural events happening this week in your fine city.
This week we also took a dip into a selection of new music that’s bubbling up from the streets of New Orleans - a selection of sings on Bandcamp that were all released this month. If you’re looking for some new local sounds then take a musical tour with us.
Also this week, a link to Megan Braden-Perry’s feature for Bon Appetit, where she took on the enviable task of weighing up the city’s best gumbo.
We’ll see you next time, when the jet lag fog has hopefully lifted somewhat. Have a great week whatever you’re up to, and as always, much love.
