New Orleans City Eats is a new book by local author Beth D’Addono, and it’s a perfect snapshot of our city’s evolving culinary landscape - find out more in our main feature. We also checked into the Virgin Hotel to try the new summer menu at Commons Club and saw a long-awaited revamp of part of the Monteleone Hotel. This, plus news of National OysterDay and your seven-day diary (highlights include White Linen Night and the last few days of ‘Streetcar’).
Also, a massive thank you to everyone that has contributed to our fundraising drive for this year. We’re at around $2,500 of our $3,000 target, and I’m so sincerely grateful for the support. This is the last day before the grand draw if you want to help us get even closer: you can make a simple, quick donation by Venmo (@shandypockets) or PayPal (paul.oswell@gmail.com) and if you want to be in the running for a prize (some worth up to $1,000), pick your pot(s) and just fill out a simple form right here.
All money raised will go to commissioning local writers over the next 12 months. We couldn’t do this without your support, so sincere thanks for your consideration. Enjoy your week, and much love to you and yours,
Paul O
