Bookstores are often more than just shops - they’re community centers, places of learning and just generally great places to hang out. It’s a tough business these days, but there’s a wealth of locals who offer a much more personal experience than you’ll find on virtual shelves. This week, we list the best places to browse and buy if you’re a keen reader. We also have a couple of brand new things we’re trying!
The first is a photo essay by Donovan Fannon, who illustrates the community to be found at Sea Cave, a video arcade on St Claude Avenue. We’d love to do more of these!
We have a brand new page just for goofs: our fictional satirical sister publication, The 18th Ward Herald.
Read and cringe through the second (and thankfully final) installment of our deep dive into the city’s least-liked TV show, K-Ville.
Your seven-day diary includes Fiesta Latina, the Beignet Festival, The retro Film Fest and all your cultural highlights for the week. Plus previews of upcoming theater productions and restaurants’ special events on our News page.
Click here for all of this and more in this week’s Out All Day: New Orleans.
Have a fun and safe week whatever you’re up to, and see you next week. As always, much love.
